for Dad

What to get the father that you're not sure what to get?  His original instrument, embroidered and ready to hang in his Music-themed office!  I tried to match the colors of his office well.

Can you find it on the wall?  How did the colors work?

Simple Sweet Silhouette

I believe that this is a shape from Sublime Stitching.  I thought that I'd try a satin stitch with no outline.  That way I was able to get the eyelash effectively.

Fiesta de Breasta!

Some friends of mine were walking at the 2-day Breast Cancer walk.  As a fund raiser, they held something called "Fiesta de Breasta" - happened around May 5th.  Cute, huh?  Some of us were asked to donate items for a raffle.  I enhanced a few hand-towels and a salsa dancer.

First: a trio of peppers.

The dancer, in progress.

The other hand towel:

Notice the ruffles in orange in pink.  I liked those.

Children's handwriting

An old friend asked me to embroider her daughter's name/handwriting.  It was so sweet.  I used cross-stitch fabric, which was a bit tough, but I think that it turned out well in the end.

She didn't ask for this, but I put her son's initial on another piece of fabric.  Found this cute font, and hoped that she liked it!

Jeans pockets

This is one of my first "projects" - I'm no artist, so here's what an "open" birdcage looked like to me, I guess.

Gift wrapping?

It was my Grandma's 80th birthday party, so I bought her the DVD to "Crossing Delancey".  Cute movie, if you haven't seen it yet.  80s realness.

So... why wouldn't I gift wrap it in fabric?  I had a few extra buttons.  The string on the left is what she pulled onto to open the gift.

Onesies!

Welcome to the world, James Michael.  Aunt Mandy loves you very much.
